A bit of catching up

Once again it has been a few weeks since our last blog!! So what's been happening - not much!!

A night out with the girls to celebrate a wonderful friends birthday which included bowling, pool, coffee, wine, food, conversation, laughs and friendship - a great night:

A great time had by all!!

Wow it's been a month since our last blog!!!

How time flys by. Well life just got busy and blogging got put on the back burner. Not that anything out of the usual has occurred, it just seemed there wasn't time for blogging the last month. Maybe it's just the cooler days and nights where it's easier to stay in bed, go to bed early or just get a blankie and watch TV. Anyway I promise to be a better blogger from now on. So our big news is:

Yep Skaterboy is licensed to drive!!! He got his P's on the weekend but had to wait until the this afternoon to officially get his license. And he's off!! We bought him a cheap car - no stopping him now - except the price of fuel - mmmm driving is not all that it is cracked up to be especially when you're paying the bills!!

I now he will be fine and can only trust in him and tell him not to drive faster than his Angel, cause she is there to watch over him.

I think I was more excited than he was!!

Enjoy your night wherever you may be.

A lovely Mothers Day

Well I have had a lovely Mothers Day, starting with my boy cooking me a lovely breakfast:

Then I took Ballerina to her acting classes in Brisbane and got to spend some quality time with her:

The only person missing today was Paul, working away up North, but we have talked several times today.

Happy Mothers Day to all those celebrating today!!

Happy Mothers Day 2008

To my Mum
"Happy Mother's Day" means more
Than have a happy day.
Within those words lie lots of things
We never get to say.
It means I love you first of all,
Then thanks for all you do.
It means you mean a lot to me,
And that I honor you.

But most of all, I guess it means
That I am thinking of
Your happiness on this, your day,
With pleasure and with love.

For my Nan
Grandmothers are mothers who are grand,
Restoring the sense that our most precious things
Are those that do not change much over time.
No love of childhood is more sublime,
Demanding little, giving on demand,
More inclined than most to grant the wings
On which we fly off to enchanted lands.
Though grandmothers must serve as second mothers,
Helping out with young and restless hearts,
Each has all the patience wisdom brings,
Remembering our passions more than others,
Soothing us with old and well-honed arts.

Mothers and daughters
Were daughters and mothers
Not so long ago.
We give and take
And take and give
Along time's endless row.
Love is passed
And love received
To be passed on again:
A precious heirloom
Twice, twice blessed,
A spiritual cardigan.

I'll put it on
And treasure it,
The me I have received,
And when the roles
Reverse again,
I'll have what I most need.

So may our love
Go on and on,
A hundred thousand years;
Mothers and daughters,
Daughters and mothers,
Through joys and other tears.

Enjoy your day - we love you!

Yum Cha with friends

Today we had Yum Cha with our lovely friends Alex and Sally and their girls. The food is wonderful and filling - a great way to spend a Sunday morning! We spent 3 weeks travelling around the US with this lovely family in Dec 07 and enjoyed our time together. Our girls dance together and Sally and I dance each week as well. It was great to catch up with them and share a meal!

Happy Birthday Mum

glitter-graphics.com

Mum enjoy your day - we are thinking of you.

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
And soothe our disappointments
And calm away our fears.

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we have dreamed about
Suddenly is real.

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us, the confidence
We need from day to day.

Mother, thank you for your heart, faith and hope
And all your steadfast love
You were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above...

Happy Birthday Mum, enjoy your day, we love you very muchxxx

Lunch today

Today I had a leisurely, long lunch with my Aunty, Cousin and Ballerina. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Buddha's Wok & Grill, Sanctuary Cove.

A lovely little spot on the Gold Coast.

Happy 22nd Anniversary to US

22 Years ago today I married my best friend, soulmate and the love of my life.

Along the way we have had ups and downs but I would not change one second of our life together. The adventures we have shared, the tears, the laughter, the joy and everything else since then have made us who we are today - and I think we're damn good people.

Yeah sure we've made mistakes, but our love for each other has got us through.

Without a doubt our greatest achievement are our 2 wonderful kids. We haven't always got it right with them either, but without them our life wouldn't be complete. They are part of our lives and we love them immensely.

Nito has been known to say over the years that you get less for murder!!

And there aren't too many men who would renew their vows not once but twice!

So Nito here's to US and another 22 years and another 22 years after that!

Ooo. you make me live
whatever this world can give to me
It's you, you're all I see
Ooo, you make me live now honey
Ooo, you make me live
You're the best friend
that I ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine
And I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
You're my best friend

A Prayer

This was emailed me to me and I thought it would be nice to share:

When I go walking in the morning before there’s anyone else around
I hear and see the little birds, and I see dew upon the ground
I see flowers before they open, I see “something” over there
It’s a time of day I really love, and I say a silent prayer

When I’m sitting at the table with my family, far a meal
It is far from being a quiet time, with the little ones’ raucous squeal
The teenagers are rowdy too, but it’s a time I love to share
For my family is my treasure, and I say a little prayer.

As I’m driving down the road, I’m sometimes driving among fools
Who drive too fast, weave in and out, and disobey the rules
Who force their way through traffic, and don’t seem to have a care
I hope they don’t hurt anyone, and I say another prayer

I’ve sometimes struggled with a problem, when something won’t work out
Known I had ability to solve it, but still had this nagging doubt
I know some people won’t believe me, but it is true, I swear
The answers seem so simple, once I’ve asked for help in prayer

There’ve been times when at the footy – and I admit that I’m one-eyed
When I’ve thought of asking for some help for our poor, struggling side
A prayer is pretty tempting, when the other side’s a threat
Though I must admit I have come close, I haven’t done it yet.

I look at problems of our world and the troubles that are faced
And at some in public office, who I’m sure are poorly placed
At solutions that seem obvious, but they just are not aware
And I guess at times like this as well, I think of them in prayer.

Before I go to sleep at night I reflect upon my day
I look at what I’ve done with my family, work, and play
Each and every day’s a bonus, since my heart gave me a scare
There is no way I’ll forget that, and I say a fervent prayer.

There’s not too much that happens in my world that I’m not thankful for
My community, my family, home, and work, and friends, and more
Yes, my life is pretty peaceful, though I don’t need to compare
But I thank the one who guides me, and I say a little prayer
