Time with Family

My brother and his family returned from their cruise today and I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with them before they fly out tonight back to Adelaide:

It was great to spend time with them today - they are on their way back to the airport for their flight!!

Beautiful sunrise

Well it might be the last weekend in summer for us, but it is certainly the first summer weekend we have had here on the Gold Coast. The temperature is heading for 35 degrees celsius today. I took Tom for a walk at 5.30am this morning and the warm winds were already blowing as the sun was rising. Not a cloud in the sky - airconditioning and pool weather - finally!!!!

Shrove Tuesday

Mmmm although Shrove Tuesday is related to Lent (the day before) we love it because it gives us another reason to enjoy Pancakes. This year Ballerina and myself had them for breakfast! Thank goodness for add water and shake!

What a wonderful world!

Down comes the rain - again!

Another night of rain. In the last 24 hours we have had 38mm of rain fall around us - 7mm in the last hour. Of course we have been quite used to rain this year - more than we have had in a long time - our dam is overflowing. The average rainfall for Jan is around 184mm and in some places we have had over 350mm in the local Gold Coast area. Much of Queensland has been flooded in January. Sure we need the rain, but it would be great if it could be spread out evenly over the year!!! Looks like a good movie or book is on the cards again today!
