Update on Paul

Well he is now on his way to recovery. On 16 Oct, Paul had his prostate removed. We visited the Dr on Monday to have the staples removed (20 in all, quite a big scar) and he told us he got all the cancer and there are no signs of the cancer having spread anywhere else. So great news. He still needs to get tested every 6 months to make sure it doesn't come back - but that is no problems.

Prostate Cancer

So what do you do when you get told you have Prostate Cancer ?

Reality - you get a lump in your throat and you think the worst, but of course you hope for the best!! My beloved husband, Paul has prostate cancer and of course we got the lump in our throat and thought the worst. However, we are lucky that the cancer has been found early and that Paul is a fit, healthy, young man. We are remaining very positive and know that everything will be fine.

The treatment we have chosen is surgery - surgical removal of the whole prostate is called radical prostatectomy. For some patients it is a very appropriate attempt for a cure. It involves four to five days in hospital and another four to six weeks recuperating at home and has a relatively short treatment and recovery period.

We have a journey ahead of us that we will travel together, we will remain positive and focussed on nothing but getting Paul well!!

Enjoy your day!
